After falling short in the fourth quarter in three previous Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference games, the Morgan State football team mounted a last period comeback to knock off Norfolk State 35-28 and earn their first league win of the season.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Raymond Moore III threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns, on 16-for-22 passing including the tying touchdown to Justin Perry five minutes into the fourth quarter after Morgan trailed 28-21 entering the period. Moore ran for the go-ahead score from a yard out with just over six minutes to go.
The Bears (4-7, 1-3 in the MEAC) had suffered narrow fourth-quarter losses to Howard, South Carolina State and Delaware State in conference play as well as an end-of-game setback in a non-conference loss to Georgetown.
Morgan was outgained 460-345 overall and 286-162 on the ground by Norfolk State (1-10, 0-4). Spartan quarterback Vinson Berry threw for 174 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Bears conclude the 2025 season at home Saturday against North Carolina Central.
