Morgan State University’s Director of Athletics Edward Scott announced Friday that interim head coach Fred T. Farrier will assume the full-time position as the head football coach for the MSU Bears.
Farrier joined the Bears in 2014 as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He replaced former head coach Lee Hull, who became the wide receivers coach for the Indianapolis Colts. Hull in two seasons as the Bears head coach had a combined 11-12 overall record and a 10-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference record. Hull led the Morgan State football team to its first Football Championship Subdivision playoff appearance in school history in 2014.
According to the www.morganstatebears.com, since taking over as interim coach in February, Farrier has guided the Bears to a 3-8 overall record and a 3-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference record. The Bears completed the season with four student-athletes recognized to the All-MEAC Team and 15 selected to the MEAC’s All-Academic Team.
Farrier becomes the 14th head football coach in MSU history.
