Three Morgan cross country runners named All-MEAC following conference championship

The 2021 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cross Country championship occurred on Friday at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

The Norfolk State Spartans won the team titles for both the men’s and women’s races, but three Morgan State runners were named All-MEAC after finishing in the top 15 of their races.

Morgan junior Rachel Field finished in seventh place in the women’s 5K race with a time of 19:40.60.

In the men’s 8K race, Morgan freshman Jackson Waller finished in 12th place with a time of 27:00.9. Sophomore Justin Alston rounded out the top 15 with a time of 27:21.5.

Morgan’s men’s team finished the race in fifth place overall out of eight teams with a score of 114 points.

The women’s team finished in seventh place out of eight teams with a score of 146 points.
