Morgan’s volleyball team shutout by Coppin

The Lady Bears were defeated by Coppin State 3-0 Friday night.

On Friday night, Morgan State’s volleyball team dropped to 1-2 in conference play after being defeated 3-0 in their match against Coppin State.

Although Morgan didn’t earn a victory in any of their sets, two of them came down to the wire.

Morgan was defeated 25-22 in their first set, 25-19 in their second set, and 27-25 in their final one.

Coppin freshman middle hitter Ahzhi Coleman led her team in hitting percentage.

She had a .444 hitting percentage with six kills on nine total attacks and two errors.

Coppin was led in kills by junior outside hitter Paola Caten who had 12.
Morgan freshman outside hitter Madison Grace did her best to help her team win as she led them in both hitting percentages and kills.

Grace had 17 kills on 37 total attacks with four errors.

Morgan has a chance to improve their conference record to .500 next Friday, Oct. 8, when they face the Howard Bison at 6 p.m. in Hill Field House.
