In the spirit of homecoming, Fashion at Morgan, Absolutely Beautiful and Confident Modeling Organization, and I.M.E. Agency held a fashion show last night in the Calvin and Tina Tyler Ballroom, located in the Morgan State University Student Center.
The show consisted of a few dance numbers, as well as some runway modeling. The Y-shaped stage set-up made it easier to view the show from anywhere in the room.
The models and staff members of each modeling group prepared hair, make-up, outfits and choreography for the show, making sure everything was in place.
“Preparing for the show wasn’t difficult. Sometimes it was a little unorganized or a little hectic, but it really wasn’t that bad,’” says FAM model Justin Motley.
Each modeling group had a total of three scenes, and each scene consisted of one or more clothing lines and/or jewelry designs.
The show featured a local upcoming clothing line, Oia Brand, which was created by a MSU graduate. There were also a couple of clothing stores, such Crystals Bridal and Xavier Furs.
King Iven, the DJ played a mix of popular rap, r & b and hip hop music in between scenes which kept the energy levels up throughout the show.
The MSU community, as well as parents and friends, came out to support the models, making it a sold out event.
Kache’ Stewart, a Towson University student and a member of Models of Distinction, says, “I’m here because I wanted to see the show,” says Kache’ Stewart, a Towson University student and a member of Models of Distinction. “I wanted to support them because I’m a model too. I know what it’s like to work hard for the show. I loved it!”
The music, the fashion and the support of those who attended made this homecoming event a successful one.
