Kevin Broadus, Morgan State men’s basketball coach, has agreed to a two-year contract extension, according to University President David Wilson.

“Coach Broadus has placed the basketball program at Morgan in a position of positive growth and continued competitiveness,” Wilson said on Wednesday.

Broadus, who has been at Morgan since May 2019, has led his team to a 42-39 overall record over three seasons. Additionally, the team has won 23 of 41 conference games.

In the 2020-21 season, the team advanced to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship game where they fell to Norfolk State 71-63.

Under Broadus, the men’s basketball team has advanced past the first round of the MEAC Tournament in two possible opportunities.

“I want to thank President Wilson and his administrative team for believing me as their coach,” said Broadus.
