On April 19, The Alpha Iota chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi and Red Bull held a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament in the Hill Field House. Sixteen teams of three players battled for the chance to compete again in the Barclay’s Center. The teams played to half court in single elimination rounds. Numerous Morgan students came out as both players and spectators. Red Bull representatives passed out free Red Bull’s to cheering students. During intermission, the National Pan Hellenic Council held a block show to preview their annual Battlegrounds Step Show on Friday, April 25.

Dania Smith, sophomore and one of the referees for the game felt the aggression of the Morgan ballers. “It was more intense than a regular game because I actually knew the people who were playing and operating the event, so it was more pressure,” she says. The championship game came down to “The Money Team” and “The Bears,” comprised of some of the Bears basketball team. The Money Team had  chance to tie with five seconds left, but couldn’t get their last minute shot to gall. The Bears, who coasted through the entire tournament, were reigned champs and proved they had game.
