When ESPN’s The Undefeated was just an idea in the making, nobody was sure what the end result of the network’s progressively black offshoot would be.
Five months after its launch on May 17, The Undefeated will be making a stop at Morgan State University to present a symposium titled “The Impact of Negative Images on Black Women Athletes,” moderated by ESPN’s Jemele Hill.
Other guests for the event include Lonnae O’Neal from The Undefeated, American sabre fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, and retired WNBA player and ESPN analyst Kara Lawson.
Prior to the discussion, The Undefeated and the School of Global Journalism and Communications – the co-host for the day – welcome student journalists and professionals to a mentor breakfast. Maggie Linton of the Maggie Linton Show on Sirius XM, the Baltimore Sun’s managing editor Sam Davis, and senior editor for news and commentary John X. Miller of The Undefeated will be the featured guests for the morning.
The symposium will run from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Student Center auditorium.
