Morgan State University’s Science Complex experiences major power outage
March 12, 2019
Morgan State University has an unexpected power outage in the Science Complex due to the failure of a main fuse on Tuesday. All classes held in the Science Complex are canceled for the remainder of the day.
According to Kim I. McCalla, associate vice president of Facilities Design and Construction, the affected buildings include Spencer Hall, Key Hall, Calloway Hall and Carnegie Hall.
As a result of the electrical issue, replacement parts are being ordered.
The university is in “search for other emergency temporary equipment to temporarily restore the buildings’ power, but the buildings are on emergency power and only essential items have power,” said McCalla.
She advises students to check their Morgan email for further updates, while faculty and staff should contact their immediate supervisor or the HR Department for additional instructions about where to report.
