Saif Bryant, a junior transfer physical education major at Morgan State University (MSU), died in a car crash in his hometown of Ellicott City early on Sunday morning.

The Howard County police department continues to investigate the cause of the single-vehicle accident, but confirms that Bryant was the driver and only person in the car.

“A 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling northbound Centennial Lane approaching Burnside Drive when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree. The vehicle then caught fire,” said the Howard County Police department in an issued statement released on Facebook.

Bryant was also a member of the National Honor Society and of the MSU football team.
