Morgan State University appoints the Dean of the School of Social Work as Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Anna McPhatter, has been at Morgan for over 21 years fulfilling numerous positions in the School of Social Work such as associate professor, chair of the department of Social work and Mental Health and full professor.
As McPhatter assumes her new position, Halaevalu Vakalahi, Associate Dean and Professor of the School of Social Work will serve as Interim Dean of the School of Social Work.
McPhatter’s position is effective on June 1, following the resignation of Gloria Gibson. Gibson, will serve as the new president of Northeastern Illinois University, effective on May 31.
