Morgan State University students, faculty and staff now have a new way to get around town between classes thanks to the new Zipcars on campus.
In an announcement sent out to the campus on Monday, Morgan has now made Zipcar available for everyone to use. Students can use it if they are at least 18 years old or older. To use the service, MSU students must sign up to become a member for $15.
Zipcar is a car sharing service that operates 24/7 in most cities across the country.
After becoming a member, students can reserve a car with the company online for as little as an hour or as long as seven days, according to the announcement. Cars must be returned at the end of their reservation.
For each reservation, Zipcar covers gas, insurance and 180 miles per day.
There are only two Zipcars available on the campus, located in Morgan State’s Lot Y (the lot next to Northwood softball field).
The MSU Spokesman will provide another story on Morgan’s Zipcar usage.
