The Earl S. Richardson Library reopened Tuesday afternoon after being closed for more than two hours due to a bomb threat.
Students were first alerted at 11:31 a.m. via text message, followed by an email announcing that campus police had searched every floor of the library and cleared the building. The library has since reopened.
While library was closed classes and activities on campus went on as usual.
Hillen Road was shut down from Cold Spring Lane to Argonne Drive, foot traffic was prohibited in the center of campus, and police tape blocked pedestrian access near the Calvin and Tina Tyler hall and in front of the library and Student Center.
This marks the second threat Morgan has received this month, following a Sept. 12 phone threat to the university. It also comes amid a wider string of bomb threats targeting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Neighboring university, Towson also received a bomb threat and has since reopened their campus.
