John Dunmore caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Indorf in the final minute, giving Towson a 27-22 win over Morgan State in the “Battle for Greater Baltimore.”
Morgan State’s defense forced four punts but couldn’t stop Towson on the final drive, allowing the Tigers to take the lead with 28 seconds remaining.
The Bears’ defense had an impressive performance holding the Tigers to 249 total yards – just 63 on the ground – and added three sacks. Linebacker Jianni Woodson-Brooks stood out with 10 tackles and one sack.
Despite gaining 417 total yards, the Bears’ offense committed three turnovers and couldn’t string together enough scoring drives to put Towson away, only converting 3 out of 5 times in the red zone.
The Bears are now 0-2 and last place in the MEAC. They will travel to play the University of Toledo on September 13 at 3:30 p.m.
