With less than three weeks until the Fall 2025 semester begins, students remain uncertain about what dining option will replace Chick-Fil-A in the university’s student center.
After serving the campus community for three years, Chick-Fil-A closed at the end of the Spring 2025 semester. The university has not announced what will take its place. For now, a bare blue-and-white wall stands where Chick-Fil-A once operated, leaving students waiting for an announcement about the next dining option.
Multiple requests for comment to the university’s public relations office and Sodexo Magic, the school’s food service provider, were declined.
Some students reported being asked to take a survey earlier this year to vote on possible replacements, with options such as Taco Bell, Shake Shack and Panera Bread.
Options among students are mixed. Some want healthier menu choices, while others said they simply want to know what’s next.
“I’m not really sad to see it leaving, I’m just wondering what will replace it,” said Schuyler Cameron, a senior health education major. “I hope it’s something good and that it has healthy options.”
Meanwhile, Mia Mihara, a junior nursing major, said, “Being on campus late at night, it’s going to be more of a hassle because I do want a little snack or something.”
