An aggravated assault was reported Sunday afternoon at the Morgan View apartment complex near Morgan State University, according to campus police.
The incident occurred around 4:19 p.m. The victim, a woman not affiliated with Morgan State University, was driving north on Loch Raven Boulevard when she encountered a group of individuals riding dirt bikes and ATVs.
As the woman entered Morgan View, she attempted to seek help at the security booth. Although she was not headed to MorganView, the group followed her onto the property and vandalized her car.
“The riders blocked the vehicle at the entrance gate, while one individual jumped on her vehicle and began to stomp on the hood of her car,” campus police said in a statement. “The driver of the vehicle began to drive off at which time one of the suspects discharged several rounds at her vehicle.”
A security guard at the complex called police and provided investigators with video footage of the incident. The Baltimore Police Department is investigating this case. This is the second incident near Morgan View this semester, following a shooting at the corner of East Cold Spring Lane and Hillen Road during the university’s annual homecoming celebration.
