Many registered voters at Morgan have taken advantage of the mail-in or absentee ballots options for early voting.
Some of them are Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey natives and navigated the requirements and timelines that each state requires to vote in their respective states. Maryland has early voting centers, Philadelphia has drop-off locations, and New York and New Jersey have extended voting hours — each state’s information is below.
Maryland
For the 2024 Presidential General Election, early voting in Maryland began on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, and ends Thursday, October 31, 2024. Each day, the polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
To find Maryland’s early voting centers visit the Maryland State Board of Elections’ website. When you arrive at the early voting center, you will check in, vote and turn in your ballot.
Pennsylvania
The last day to vote early and request a mail-in ballot was Oct. 29, 2024. If an emergency or illness has prevented a voter from doing so, please go to Pennsylvania’s website and ask to obtain an emergency absentee ballot.
Early voters can take their ballots to the city’s mail-in dropoff locations or polling centers. Ballots postmarked or received by Nov. 5 will count toward the election.
New York and New Jersey:
In New York, early voting began Oct. 26 and continues through Sunday, Nov. 3. Voting hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays.
In New Jersey, polling stations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day, and until at 6 p.m. on Sundays. Early voting will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 3.
Voters are assigned to a specific early voting poll site, but voters outside the city go to any early voting center in their county.
