December 2023 Commencement: The Day in Pictures

Hundreds of students graduated from Morgan State University at Friday, Dec. 15’s Fall Commencement. Honorary degrees were awarded to Larry Hogan, former governor of the state of Maryland George A. Pruitt, president emeritus and board fellow at Thomas Edison State University and ABC News President Kim Godwin. Godwin was the keynote speaker for the commencement.

Lillian Stephens was born and raised in Prince George’s County, Md. She attended and graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 2006 and went on to attend Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. Stephens left Pratt Institute in 2010 without completing a degree and served in the United States Marine Corps for 10 years, spending seven as a public affairs specialist and broadcaster, and three years as a recruiter. Stephens returned to Prince George’s County in April 2022 and is pursuing her bachelor of science in strategic communication.
