On Election Eve, President Joe Biden made a stop in Bowie State University in a show of support for gubernatorial candidate Wes Moore.

President Biden and fellow Democrats hosted their ‘Get Out To Vote’ Rally Monday. In addition to Biden, the event saw appearances from Maryland Democratic candidates on the ballot including Brooke Lierman for comptroller, Rep. Anthony Brown for attorney general and Sen. Chris Van Hollen.

“Wes Moore will build a Maryland that leaves no one behind”

Though Moore leads the polls by 30 points, according to a recent Baltimore Sun/University of Baltimore poll, he said that he will continue to campaign hard.

“There are three reasons why we continue to campaign so aggressively. The first reason is this; This is how I plan on governing,” he said.

Biden received a warm welcome to the stage and highlighted his $5.8 million commitment to HBCUs, and acknowledged the accomplishments of Democrats across the board.

However,  Biden was met by hecklers on both sides of the stadium shortly into the president’s speech. One talking about the president’s son, and the other talking about the war with Russia.

The incidents were short lived and their comments were immediately drowned out by the crowd chanting “Let’s go Joe.” Both individuals were quickly escorted out.

Biden continued his speech, showing support for Moore and assuring Marylanders that he will leave no one behind.

Tonight, both gubernatorial candidates will be hosting election night events. Moore will be in Baltimore, and Cox will be in Annapolis.

If Moore and Brown were to be elected, they would make history as the first African Americans to be Governor and Attorney General in the state of Maryland.
