Vice President Kamala Harris visited the Cahill Recreation Center in Baltimore to encourage Marylanders to vote.

In addition to urging Marylanders to vote in the upcoming midterm elections, Harris showed support for Democratic nominee for governor, Wes Moore, and the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor, Aruna Miller during her Saturday visit.

“She [Aruna Miller] has been a proven leader and partner to Wes Moore, and the two of them will be a dynamic duo” said the vice president.

The event, which was hosted by the Maryland Democratic Party, also saw appearances from other high-profile democratic politicians including Sen. Chris Van Hollen, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, and Congressman Kweisi Mfume to name a few.

Moore took the stage before introducing the vice president to once again push residents to take the election seriously and motivate others to vote Nov. 8.

“I ask each and every one of you to wake up in the morning and take this personally. Wake up every morning and ask yourself ‘What do I need to do to win this election? Who’s door do I need to knock on, because that door could be the door that wins this election,” said Moore.

Aside from the governor’s seat, several other influential positions are up for grabs this election including Attorney General, Comptroller, and Lieutenant Governor.

Democratic candidates running for office include Rep. Anthony Brown for Attorney General, Brooke Lierman for Comptroller, and former delegate Aruna Miller for Lieutenant Governor.

With six days left until election day, Moore is leading in the polls ahead of the Republican candidate for Governor, Dan Cox.
