Greater Baltimore Urban League to host mayoral candidate forum at Murphy

The Greater Baltimore Urban League will host a Mayoral Candidate Forum on Saturday at the Murphy Fine Arts Center from 11a.m. – 1p.m., free to the public.

The event will allow Baltimore residents to hear from over a dozen mayoral candidates directly. Candidates confirmed to attend include Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young, City Council President Brandon Scott, Sen. Mary Washington, Shannon Wright, Yolanda Pulley, Catalina Byrd, Sheila Dixon, T.J. Smith, Carmichael “Stokey” Cannady, Rikki Vaughn, Frederick Ware-Newsome, James Hugh Jones II, Dante Swinton and Thiru Vignarajah.

Attendees are also encouraged to pose questions for the candidates.

The forum will be moderated by Karsonya Wise Whitehead who hosts WEAA’s “Today with Dr. Kaye,” Rev. Sheridan Todd Yeary and Rev. Alvin Hathaway.

The Greater Baltimore Urban League was founded in 1924 and is a local affiliate of the National Urban League, a non-profit social service organization devoted to empowering African Americans.
